Terry Ann Williams and her family escaped from Hurricane Katrina's floodwaters, which destroyed their New Orleans home. After temporarily relocating to Houston, Terry returned to Louisiana only to find that her former job no longer existed.
Having worked previously in a bridal store, Terry decided she would open her own formalwear shop. With the support of the Trickle Up grant and business training from our partner, Terry buys used and discounted bridal gowns and rents them to new brides. Terry also rents clothing for proms, debut parties and formals.
She attributes her newfound success to the business training provided by Trickle Up. She also knows that her customers appreciate the customized fitting and tailoring that she offers, which distinguishes her business from others.
