Giving Tuesday Now

Today is #GivingTuesdayNow: a global day of giving and unity that is an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. Give to Trickle Up to help respond to the crisis in the places that are being hit the hardest.

Lakshmi lived in extreme poverty until she joined a Trickle Up self-help group in rural West Bengal, India. There, she received a seed capital grant, skills training, and, with her coach’s support, created a plan to raise chickens. But that same year, a house fire destroyed everything she and her family owned.

Lakshmi had to start over to keep moving ahead. Fortunately, she was not alone. Her group members collected money to get her back on her feet and found a place for her family to live while the house was rebuilt.

“I was able to rehabilitate my life,” she said.

At Trickle Up, we know how to help women navigate through a crisis and get back on their feet. Our experience and know-how helping people recover is more urgent than ever. With a gift to Trickle Up, you are joining the #GivingTuesdayNow movement and helping women like Lakshmi and their families.
